The Exchange Club of Austin was chartered May 1, 1924. The charter presentation was made at the Driskill Hotel in Austin. We sponsored our first Kite Contest March 10, 1929, held on the north side of the Colorado River (Town Lake) at Lamar Park. It was moved to Zilker Park in 1936. Exchange Club of Austin has given to the Austin Community for 100 years. We are steeped in history and dedicated to our causes of the prevention of child abuse, Americanism, community service, and youth programs.
